Merry Christmas

Pictures for you, originally uploaded by DianaP.

A wish for you, all I hold dear, that this holiday be filled with joy, love, warmth, peace, plenty and all your favorite traditions.

Me? I have a kitten climbing up my leg and a puppy sleeping on my foot, chocolate in my belly and the anticipation of cooking a duck for dinner, having never made or eaten one.

If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it must be a duck. Any more help, I will be glad to dispense. Call Cathy before 2:00 Pacific Time and she may be able to walk you through a few steps. All I remember is that they are good, as is goose.

Merry Christmas and much love to all Piffleheads, from the ole RFer, who is recovering nicely. Left hamsting hurts and left TMJ is also a pain, but I an mobile.

Hope you had a merry Christmas! How was the duck? I looooove duck. My favorite thing to do is roast it with sage, ginger, and rhubarb (a Jamie Oliver recipe).

Ah. Dad. Not really your hamstring, was it? Hmmmm?

Yes, folks, Dad is back in the hospital, cooling his jets, with a blood clot in the leg. More later.

Karen- A very merry Christmas to you and your family, too!

Jamie- I roasted it with onion. I then carved it and served it with a pinot noir-wild mushroom medley. Potatoes au gratin with tarragon and white cheddar, a salad with gorgonzola, walnuts, red onion, and pear along with a loaf of french bread (and the rest of the bottle of pinot) made the rest of the meal.

Duck soup with wild rice and (wild) mushrooms (medley) for dinner. I am making the soup up as I go along. Could be good, could suck. If it sucks, there is always grilled cheese.

Poor RF, that sucks. At least it was caught though.

Diana. Stop torturing me with kittens and puppies and adorable small children and now this incredibly yummy sounding duck that you made. I so want to move in with you but that would just be awkward. Plus I think it would be quite the commute to karaoke.

Merry Christmas!

I'm sorry that RFer is back in the hospital. He deserves rest and being at home.

Merry Christmas! I hope the duck turned out beautifully. I love the pictures you've loaded. Soooooo cute!

Dana- Must take pictures of Molly eating the cat's food, Madison on the kitchen counter ONCE AGAIN, Sara having one of her patented melt downs and Colin singing a song about stinky bottoms for the 15th time in a row.

The duck was a success, but it would be a bit of a cab ride to the Chalet. Pros and cons.

Beth- I don't think Dad can see December end fast enough. Being as active as he is, he does not do "invalid" well at all.

Babs- Thanks. You and he can toast the end of this sorry year, except the blood thinners are putting a kibosh on the libations for him.

Merry Christmas. I hope yours was fun and festive. Love to you, Charles and kiddos, and adorable pets.

Sorry about your Dad, hope he bounces back and no more hospitals, injuries for '06. Clearly he has now used his quota.

Stace- Thanks. Dad not-withstanding, it was a swell, quiet Christmas. Hope yours was as well!
