It's National De-Lurking Week! What a Great Excuse To Beg For Comments.

So. As I am, we all know, a sheep, I have followed Teri, who followed Dana, who followed Sheryl, who seemed to start this whole National Delurking Week (formally just a day, last year).

I can't imagine anyone would lurk here as, well, what would be the point of reading the endless drivel of a mid-aged mid-western woman with a penchant for horrible haikus and pointless mocking without leaving a comment and joining in the fun?

Still, everyone has an issue or ten, and so maybe there is someone who has read and returned and now is embarrassed that they didn't say, "Hello" and are now standing off to the side, nursing their last bit of drink and wondering if they should stay and chat or just edge out the door.

Please, say "Hi". I (and the rest of us) would love to meet you. If you don't want us to know the real you, hell, it's the internet and we won't know the difference. I also won't know how to track you as I just don't have the time, energy, or desire to learn what to click, type, or kick to follow you.

Hell, even if I do know you, leave a token comment. Speak in code. Or Swahili. No point in being a sheep all by myself.

Hello! I'm commenting, even if I'm not a lurker. I was a lurker, but then I decided one day to not be a lurker. It is an easy, conscious choice. And one that is for the better! (I'm giving extra encouragement to those who are not quite ready to comment but should, commenting can change your life! Fame, fortune, and glory comes from commenting. Well, maybe not, but you do get to know great people and you feel part of the blogging community. It is good.)

Ha! Beth is funny. You are funny as well. So is Teri. I like funny. Everyone is funny. Funny is good. I am a dork.

Though not a lurker, I am a sheep.

Plus I hate not being in on things.

So, um, I'm-a saying something!!

'Something'

Yea. Put me in the 'dork' file too LOL

Token comment that may almost seem like SPAM, except that you know I'm not a spammer (or a lurker).

Sitting here in front of me is a catalog from van Bourgondien with the most amazing dahlia featured on the front cover. It's called 'Mom's Special' and since you're a mom, I think you should order some for yourself. Lots of other pretty things, too, like the 'Delft Blue' delphiniums and some totally insane lilies (and I don't even normally like lilies). Check out: www.dutchbulbs.com

Hey Diana! I've actually lurked on your blog before. Good stuff! Thanks for stopping my my place. Oh, and I actually used to live in Wisconsin (Oshkosh, anyone?) but have retreated back to the Dakotas.

Everybody- Hello, hello, hello!

Teri- Thank goodness you left me that first comment, otherwise I'd be missing a very good friend.

Cagey- Oooh! Hindi! Lovely!

Kate- Be careful in encouraging the horrible haikus. Especially someone without a strong constitution, like you.

Linda- Hola! back atchew

Beth- Couldn't have said it better. In fact, couldn't have said it as well.

Dana- Aren't we all adorable dorks?

Babs- Once, again, thank goodness you said "something" months ago or my days would be darker.

Rozanne- Ah, my dealer. I was doing so well. Not a peek at one of those sinful catalogues for several weeks and now you throw on in my face. Well, what can I do but give in. Not my fault. I have this absurd weakness for dahlias, I can't explain it. Me of the asters, columbines, delphiniums and all. I am also partial to lillies. You evil woman.

Sarah- Big welcomes! I read all your blog yesterday during chunks of downtime. (Sloooow day, what can I do?) Loved it. Were it not for de-lurker week, I don't know if I would have commented as I feel sort of pushy doing so, which is ridiculous as I adore having new people comment. Such a hypocrite.

Christie- Big hellos to you, too! A true new person! I sent you an e-mail last night that probably made no sense as I was heading to bed. It may not even have gone through as something needed updating to get it sent. Obviously I find you fascinating from the handful of entries and will finish your archives.

Colleen- Hello, dammit, too! (So, when are you starting a blog? ...Waiting...)

Karen- If you became a sheep, it'd add a whole new dimension to your weaving and dying, especially if you could change the breed you were on demand.

Dooney- I enjoy your blog. "Hi" back.

Teri- Boggles my mind!

Colleen- Please do. I love my commenters, too.

MG- I know where you live.

Babs- Yeah. That's it. We're all the really cool kids, not a dork among us. Really.

(Boy, do we have her fooled. Don't let on. She'll ditch us if she finds out.)

SheilaC- How very delightful to meet you! 5-year-old triplets gets you instant street cred here. I'm guessing it was Linda's blog from whence you came. (Note: all the cool people speak in mock-archaic mode.)

Gerah- Can you stalk a stalker?
